UK Government data revealed blood clot cases increased from 79 to 168 and deaths from 19 to 32.

Meanwhile, the chances of getting a blood clot from having the vaccine increased from one in 250,000 to one in 126,582.

But an MHRA spokesman said: “On the basis of this ongoing review, the advice remains that the benefits of the vaccine outweigh the risks in the majority of people.”
