The Bee Gees singer Barry Gibb, 74, has revealed his steamy first meeting with now-wife Linda, 70, had a surprising sci-fi element to it. Barry divulged that the couple shared an instant connection when they locked eyes across the room while he and his band performed on Top of the Pops.

The star then hinted that he and the model followed this up by having sex for the first time in Doctor Who’s Tardis.

After The Bee Gees performed one of their biggest hits, Barry managed to escape with Linda to a nearby BBC studio, where Doctor Who’s set was based.

They then discovered the famous time travelling phone box from the show and proceeded to have “a bit of a cuddle” in it.

Although the Tardis appears to be a 1950’s London police box on the outside, its interiors are said to contain an infinite number of rooms.

Barry explained to The Scottish Sun that despite his success, he is relieved he never experienced former friend Michael Jackson’s meteoric levels of fame.

The star said while speaking about the King of Pop: “He didn’t know how to be a normal person any more. He wished he was somewhere else, or someone else.

“I never had that kind of fame. I managed to keep my distance, love and raise my kids and keep my sanity to some extent.

“That’s probably my best achievement.”
