Bella Italia and Café Rouge plunge into administration with the loss of 1,900 jobs and 91 restaurants axed
Bella Italia and Café Rouge have today plunged into administration with more than 1,900 jobs set to be axed and 91 restaurants closed.
The Casual Dining Group, which also owns Las Iguanas, said due to the ‘extreme operating environment’ it was in the best interest of its stakeholders to enter administration.
More than 1,900 jobs workers are set to be made redundant, though 4,000 positions are reportedly secure at the moment, the Mirror reported.
Around 91 of 250 branches will close. Most of these are said to affect Bella Italia and Café Rouge, although 11 Las Iguanas restaurants, three Belgo branches and several branches in airports will shut.
