The benefits of taking apple cider vinegar supplements are based on studies which looked at the vinegar’s main active compound which is acetic acid.
Studies show compounds in the supplements may decrease fat production and improve the body’s ability to use sugar, leading to most of its health benefits.

This created a feeling of fullness amongst the participants and also helped to lower their blood sugar and insulin levels.
How much should you take?
Due to the minimal amount of research on apple cider vinegar supplements, there is no suggested or standard dosage.
The research which currently exists regarding the amount of vinegar taken for weight loss is around one to two tablespoons per day.
While the recommended dosages of apple cider vinegar supplements may be similar to what appears to be safe and effective in liquid form, it’s unknown if the supplements have the same properties as the liquid.
