The Government has recently announced a number of UK lockdown measures will ease again from July 4. The rules regarding non-essential shops changed earlier this month, and stores are now allowed to open providing they can meet strict COVID-19 guidelines. From July 4 a number of other premises can now reopen.

What is now allowed to reopen?

A number of businesses have been told to remain closed for the time being at this point in the pandemic.

Swimming pools, indoor gyms and nightclubs have to stay shut, as do beauty parlours and bowling alleys.

But a number of businesses within the hospitality sector can reopen from July 4, providing they are “COVID-secure”.

This includes restaurants, campsites, hotels, museums and galleries.

Cinemas, pubs and theme parks will also be allowed to reopen.

The two-metre social distancing rule remains in place, and businesses must be able to open safely and securely before reopening.

If other precautions are taken, such as the use of face coverings, the two-metre rule can be relaxed to one-metre plus if absolutely necessary.

Mecca Bingo sites will be reopening with a number of new restrictions to keep players and staff safe.

Social distancing will be encouraged within all Mecca Bingo halls, and enhanced cleaning routines will be taking place throughout the day.

There will be a capacity cap on the number of people allowed into the bingo hall at any one time.

Opening hours will be extended in the majority of clubs to accommodate the brand’s new format ‘Popingo’.

This will allow customers to literally pop in and play for an hour, and there will be some new entertainment including a regular quiz night.

New ‘Mecca Cares’ sessions with reduced customer numbers will also be introduced earlier in the day, created for those who may be feeling a little nervous about playing after lockdown.
