Dancing on Ice has seen four contestants officially withdraw from the competition in the last few weeks after coronavirus and injuries meant they could no longer take part. With the ITV show only halfway through its 10-episode plan, this has left bosses wondering how they can still keep the programme on-air for the given amount of time. It has now been confirmed the show will take a brief hiatus to allow the production team and cast to recover.
An ITV spokesperson said: “ITV has taken the decision to pause Dancing on Ice this week and there will be no live show on Sunday, February 21.
“Each week our production team and cast have delivered a fantastic show during incredibly challenging times.
“The welfare of all of those involved is important to us and we felt it prudent to take a week’s break at this juncture.
“Continuing to make the best TV for our viewers is of paramount importance to us and we look forward to resuming the competition next week, with the show back live on Sunday, February 28.”
