Death to 2020 is streaming on Netflix worldwide now and if you’re in the mood to laugh at the craziness of the past year, you will not want to miss this. From the creators of Black Mirror, the 70-minute long feature boasts a star-studded cast and some of the world’s most (fictitious) renowned voices looking back on the year.
Death to 2020 on Netflix stars Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant, Kumail Nanjiani, Tracey Ullman, Samson Kayo, Lisa Kudrow, Diane Morgan, Leslie Jones, Cristin Milioti, Joe Keery and Laurence Fishburne.
The show’s characters range from a history professor Tennyson Foss (played by Hugh Grant) to soccer mom Kathy Flowers (Cristin Miloti) to CEO billionaire Bark Multiverse (Kumail Nanjiani) and an “average citizen” called Gemma Nerrick (Diane Morgan).
Death to 2020 will look back on some of the most covered moments of 2020, such as the US election, the global pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement, the rise of TikTok, Parasite’s historic Oscars win, The Royal Family, the Australian wildfires and much more.
Ahead of the series release, the cast shared with Express.co.uk and other press the one image they have in their head when they think of 2020.

Kumail Nanjiani and Cristin Milioti joked the first image they could see would be their “bowl of masks.”
Miloti, who plays Kathy Flowers in the series said: “Mine is dark. I was in LA when there were those horrible fires, I’m back in New York now and the pictures, not only on my phone but on the news of what the sky looked like.
“Going outside at 1pm and the sky being that terrifying yellow and ash covering the car and not being able to breathe like that is singed [in my memory].”
The actress added: “I’ve never seen anything like that.”
Leslie Jones, who plays therapist Dr Maggie Gravel, added: “When the pandemic first started I had just finished getting surgery, so I was already quarantined for 30 days.
Unlike her co-stars, Kudrow revealed the “happy” image she had of 2020.
She said: “Well, a happy one was from the beginning, things like a blue sky and ducks crossing Sunset boulevard.”
Stranger Things star Joe Keery added: “The smog clearing. I know there was that giant smog cloud over China that sort of dissipated for about a month. That was incredible. That was a good thing.”
He added the “silver lining” to the pandemic was people could solve the problems of pollution and global warming.
