Ipswich Town have struck a deal with music superstar Ed Sheeran to sponsor their shirts for the 2021/22 season. The Tractor Boys will part ways with their ‘Carers Trust’ front-of-shirt sponsor at the end of the season.

Sheeran, who has an estimated net worth of £200million, is delighted with his latest investment.

Sheeran said: “The club is a big part of the local community and this is my way of showing my support.

“I have always enjoyed my trips to Portman Road and I’m looking forward to going back there as soon as supporters are allowed into stadiums again.

“With the new owners from the US coming in, there are sure to be exciting times ahead for Ipswich fans, including myself.”

Ipswich recently rejected £30m takeover by American investors but they have secured a healthy financial boost from The A Team singer.

Sheeran has been a regular at Portman Road Stadium and even attended their EFL Trophy clash with Tottenham in September 2019.

Sheeran has chose the message ‘+-=÷x TOUR’ to appear on the front of the shirts.
