Sean told LBC that he heard screaming and as he went to leave the hotel, he saw two receptionists who had been stabbed. He added that the hotel reception was full of blood following the attack.
He said: “I was sleeping and I heard noises, loud noises: a woman screaming, a man screaming for help. But I couldn’t see from my window what was going on.
“But I could see people standing there looking towards the hotel.
“So what happened was I pressed the lift but there was blood so I took the stairs.
“I came down and in the reception hall, there was blood everywhere on the floor.

“I saw one of them at reception got stabbed behind the reception area.
“Then when I went out of the entrance there was when another receptionist that got stabbed.
“I called my mum and told her immediately not to come down from the room.”
Police Scotland confirmed: “Armed police officers attended the incident and I can confirm that a male suspect was shot by an armed officer.
Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon responded to the attack.
She said: “The reports from Glasgow City Centre are truly dreadful. My thoughts are with everyone involved.
“I am being updated as the situation becomes clearer. Please help the emergency services do their jobs by staying away from the area – and please don’t share unconfirmed information.”
In a tweet, she added: “Please follow advice to avoid the West George Street area of Glasgow while the police deal with this ongoing incident.”
