This is the £1.7million luxury London home where Ghislaine Maxwell is believed to have lived when she is alleged to have groomed an underage British girl before allowing her paedophile friend Jeffrey Epstein to abuse her.

The two-bedroom mews property in one of the capital’s most sought-after districts was owned by the disgraced socialite during the 1990’s when US prosecutors say the girl was abused.

The indictment, released last week, says: ‘Maxwell groomed and befriended Minor Victim 3 in London, England, between approximately 1994 and 1995.

‘Maxwell introduced Minor Victim 3 to Epstein and during those interactions, Maxwell encouraged Minor Victim 3 to massage Epstein, knowing that Epstein would engage in sex acts with Minor Victim 3. During those massages, Epstein sexually abused Minor Victim 3.’

Maxwell, who has denied any wrongdoing or knowledge of Epstein’s serial offending, is believed to have been living at the house the time.

The house in Stanhope Mews, South Kensington, boasts an airy master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a comfortable second bedroom with use of a separate bathroom, a spacious sitting room and dining area and a galley kitchen.

An arch marks the entrance to the discreet street which is just three-minutes-walk from the Natural History Museum and a couple more to the Victoria and Albert Museum. Other local attractions include Harrods, Kensington Palace and the Royal Albert Hall.

The property, which is now worth an estimated £2 million, is occasionally available to rent and offers a housekeeping service and free Wi-Fi.

Maxwell is believed to have sold the three-storey property for £267,000 in 1997. It was resold last August for £1.7 million.

Maxwell has repeatedly denied the claims and called some of the allegations against her ‘absolute rubbish’.

Among the most sensational accusations was a claim by one Epstein victim, Virginia Roberts Giuffre, that Maxwell arranged for her to have sex with the Prince Andrew at her London townhouse.

The now infamous photograph of the Duke of York with his arm around Virginia Giuffre Roberts, aged 17 at the time, was taken at another of Maxwell’s properties, in Kinnerton Street, Belgravia, in 2001.

Prince Andrew has denied her claims.

However, Audrey Straus, the acting US attorney leading the prosecution against Maxwell, announced last week that she would ‘welcome’ a statement from the Duke in relation to her investigation.

Maxwell was sensationally arrested at her $1 million bolt-hole in New Hampshire, USA, last week.

The 58-year-old socialite is due to appear in court on Friday on charges that she helped procure underage sex partners for Epstein.

The indictment, published last week, claims Maxwell facilitated Epstein’s crimes by ‘helping to recruit, groom and ultimately abuse, girls as young as 14 years old. She is also accused of participating in the sexual abuse.

The indictment continues to accuse Maxwell of conspiring to entice minors to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, enticing a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, conspiring to transport minors with the intent to engage in criminal activity, the transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and two counts of perjury.

She faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted.

Meanwhile lawyers acting for Maxwell have applied for bail for their client.

The British socialite is currently being held in Merrimack County Jail in Boscawen, New Hampshire, but she is likely to be transferred to New York City this week.

The disgraced Briton could end up in the notorious Metropolitan Correctional Centre in Manhattan – the same federal jail where her lover Epstein committed suicide last year.

Meanwhile Maxwell’s long-term friend Prince Andrew has cancelled his annual golfing holiday to Spain this year as the investigation into his relationship with convicted paedophile Epstein, it is understood.

The Duke of York is said to be ‘nervous’ about leaving the UK and has vowed ‘never to travel to the USA again’, sources have told The Sun.

US Prosecutors have lodged a formal request to interview the prince and ministers hope the duke will speak to the FBI without the government having to intervene.
