US Election: Ivanka Trump makes speech at rally in Wisconsin
Tomorrow is Joe Biden’s inauguration as the 46th US President after Donald Trump lost the election in November. Ivanka, the President’s daughter and senior adviser, was spotted leaving her Washington DC home in an all-black ensemble and it is currently unknown whether she will attend the ceremony. Mr Trump, who has faced his second impeachment on top of bans from social media platforms in recent weeks after accusations he incited violence at the Capitol building, has said he will not attend.
Ivanka has not said what her plans are now that her father is out of office, but it has been reported that she will move to Miami with her husband Jared Kushner and their three children.
Ivanka, who was dubbed the First Daughter due to her unprecedented position in her father’s administration, was sometimes seen as a calming influence on her erratic father.
However, critics accused her of enabling him and she was not free from scandal herself.
One such scandal was over an Instagram post that was deemed insensitive.
Ivanka posted a photograph of herself in a silver gown next to her suited husband, a week after her father was sworn into office, in an incident dubbed Gowngate.

Joe Biden will be inaugurated tomorrow
The $5,000 (£4,000) molten silver Carolina Herrera ball gown was chosen for an exclusive Alfalfa Club dinner the couple were attending.
While the unusual dress was noteworthy, it was the timing of the shot that sparked the backlash.
It was January 28, the same day her father signed an executive order that blocked travellers from several Muslim-majority countries.
The so-called ‘Muslim ban’ had been a key promise of Mr Trump’s during the election campaign.
Protests popped up across the US while others across the world petitioned their own governments to take a stance on the controversial order.

Amongst this controversy, Ivanka and Jared looked like they were just enjoying a night out, which caused uproar on her Instagram.
To add fuel to the fire, the First Daughter was reportedly observing the Sabbath and apparently had no idea the rest of the country was in turmoil over the ban.
Ivanka and Jared are practising Orthodox Jews, meaning that from sunset on Friday until sunset on Saturday they are not allowed to use technology like smartphones.
That said, many questioned this as the picture itself was posted during the Sabbath.
What’s more, it would be unwise for Ivanka and Jared not to have an adviser informing them of the latest news while they observe the Sabbath themselves, at least before they post anything online.

Any other night, Ivanka’s seemingly innocuous picture would have just seemed like the latest in a carefully managed strategy to present herself as an aspirational, yet more relatable Trump.
The intention of the gown shot may have been just that ‒ a nod to ‘date night’ with her husband, with a touch of added glamour.
Unfortunately for the First Daughter, it came off incredibly insensitive that she would post such a picture amid the fallout from her father’s controversial decision.
While the couple enjoyed their night out, thousands were stranded in airports and millions more were without the prospect of escape from danger, as refugees and green card holders alike were affected.
Some people on social media called it Ivanka’s “Marie Antoinette moment”, referring to the last Queen of France’s out-of-touch “let them eat cake” comment.
Ivanka Trump discusses being ‘competitive’ like her father in 2014
One Twitter user put the picture of Ivanka next to a photograph of a refugee child wrapped in a tin foil blanket with the caption: “Who wore it better?”
Given that social media was a powerful tool for Ivanka to promote her own image during the election, it was her first major blunder since accepting a role in the White House.
One source told Vanity Fair that she “feels terrible and does not want something like this to happen again”
That said, she did not delete the picture from her social media accounts.
Since then, Ivanka has continued to use her Instagram, Twitter and Facebook to display her life as a busy working mother.
However, she recently came under fire after the riot on Capitol Hill for calling the rioters “patriots”, despite calling for peace.
Meanwhile, Mr Biden has vowed to reverse a number of major Trump executive orders on his first day in office, including the ‘Muslim ban’.
Analysts have said the ban could be easily undone as it was issued by executive order and presidential proclamation, though lawsuits from conservative opponents could delay the process.
Mr Biden said in October: “As President, I’ll work with you to rip the poison of hate from our society to honour your contributions and seek your ideas.
“My administration will look like America, with Muslim Americans serving at every level.”
According to a memo circulated by Ron Klain on Saturday, Mr Biden’s incoming White House Chief of Staff, the new administration is launching a series of policy reversals implemented by Mr Trump in its first ten days.
These will also include new coronavirus prevention efforts, rejoining the Paris climate change accord and immigration legislation allows for millions to gain citizenship.
