Key Israeli military base destroyed 'by Hezbollah rocket strike' as escalation fears surge

Monday’s attack reportedly began with the IDF striking first, with Israeli military saying it had shelled Lebanon with artillery to prevent Hezbollah from approaching the area, according to the Times.

A short while later, a number of rockets were fired from Lebanon at the Arab al-Aramshe and Bar’am communities, as well as the Biranit army base.

In response, the IDF said fighter jets, combat helicopters, and tanks struck Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon.

The Iran-backed terror group has claimed responsibility for the rocket and mortar attacks carried out throughout the day, the Times reported.

Hezbollah has fired over 1,000 rockets, mortars, missiles, and drones at Israel since Hamas’ October 7 attack, according to Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

This comes as Israel continues its ground offensive against Hamas.
