Lady Louise Windsor, 17, is Sophie, Countess of Wessex, 56, and Prince Edward’s, 57, eldest child and was not raised with the expectation of becoming a working royal. Louise is 14th in line to the throne and while she is unlikely to ever be a full-time senior royal she could provide vital support to the monarchy in the years to come.
Louise was the first of Prince Philip’s grandchildren to make a public outing following his death on April 9.
She joined her parents for a special service to honour the Duke at all Saints Chapel in Windsor.
Following the service, Louise put on a brave face as her parents spoke to reporters and members of the congregation about Philip’s death.
And in the days leading up to Philip’s funeral, Louise stepped out with her parents again to read tributes left to the Duke by royal fans at Windsor.

Judi added: “Having led a relatively low-key life so far, away from the royal spotlight and looking like a happily relaxed and informal teenager when she did appear, Louise seems to be using her mother Sophie as her template and role-model for a life that is increasingly in the public eye.”
Louise even takes after her mother when it comes to what she wears, Judi claimed.
She said: “Sophie and Louise are tending to dress in matching or similar styles for their royal engagements and there is a synchronicity with their body language that suggests Louise is carefully mirroring her mother while also showing enough subtle differences to suggest individuality too.
“Sophie was such a watchful and attentive presence at the funeral, apparently keeping a supportive eye on the rest of the family while Kate also did her bit in terms of comforting and herding warring siblings.”

Referring to the photos of Louise, Edward and Sophie looking at tributes, Judi said: “It was Louise standing with her mother as Sophie bent to read the messages on the floral tributes and it was Louise standing back with her father watching Sophie studying and adjusting tributes on a bench.”
Analysing the photo of Louise, Edward and Sophie standing shoulder to shoulder after the service at All Saints, Judi claimed they mirror one another.
She said: “The pose with the three of them: Sophie, Edward and Louise, standing together shows a very touching, sweet triple mirroring, with all three standing in identical poses with their heads tilted in sympathy and their hands clasped in front of their torsos.”
Louise is a dead-ringer for the Countess in terms of body language, Judi claimed.
She added: “When mother and daughter stand side by side in a more formal pose they look almost identical.
“Sophie is currently such an important presence in the royal Firm and her body language shows a very natural and accessible approach that still manages to spread some of the royal sparkle at events and awards ceremonies.
“She is also the one showing more open displays of emotions like sympathy, support and even grief. Which must make her a formidable role model. Like her father, Louise has previously stood back slightly in awe as Sophie does her magic but at the funeral, we can see Louise moving forward to stand with her mother and take a more active role in being mentored.”
