Marks and Spencer is well known for its Colin the Caterpillar cake range with the retailer expanding the collection over the years. The line now includes a Connie the Caterpillar cake as well as the Colin, and jelly sweets, mini logs as well as a whole bag of mini Colin the Caterpillar faces. Customers can even make their cakes personalised and the newest addition to the line has left many fans wanting to go to their local M&S store.
The original Colin the Caterpillar cake was introduced in 1990 and has become a firm favourite birthday cake for many over the years.
Now for each occasion, the retailer releases a different version of the cake including Valentine’s, Christmas and Easter.
To celebrate Colin’s £30th birthday last year, M&S launched bags of mini Colin faces and fans went wild for them.
They were so popular that the supermarket is now releasing a new addition to the collection, without it being a special occasion.

“I’ve had a whole lot of love from my fans in lockdown and I’m pleased that they can now enjoy FaceTime with me all year round. Stay tuned for more news about me (and the Mrs) next week!”
In other M&S news, fans can now also get the Colin line delivered to their homes.
Taking to its Instagram to share the news, the retailer attracted nearly 10,000 likes on the post.
They wrote: “You can now get Colin DELIVERED! Our cake-filled dreams just came true. And it’s not only Colin but any more cakes to send to loves one or to enjoy at home.”
However on the post, Marks and Spencer urged customers to only travel to their local store for an essential shop.
There are many guidelines in place from the retailer that shoppers should be aware of.
Food Halls are still open as usual, including in larger stores that also sell clothing and homeware.
Customers must wear face coverings in stores and social distance from other customers while shopping.
There are also hand sanitisers placed around stores and customers are encouraged to use them.
M&S said: “Why not skip the queues and reserve a shopping slot at a time that suits you with our new Sparks Book & Shop service, or shop for yourself or your loved ones with our easy-to-use M&S app.
“Choose contactless delivery to your door or simply Click & Collect for free at over 600 M&S stores.”
