Meghan Markle could go “backward” in a memoir by complaining about the “terrible time” she had and “how awful everyone was to her” when she was part of the British Royal Family, an expert has warned.
In 2020, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry stepped away as senior working royals- when they relocated from the UK to Montecito in California.
But a bitter rift has exploded, with the couple publically making several claims against the British Royal Family. The most recent claims came in Harry’s own tell-all memoir, Spare.
Tom Bower, who penned ‘Revenge: Meghan and Harry and the War between the Windsors’, recently told GB News: “My view is that she is writing her memoirs and it will be a huge money-spinner.”
However royal author Angela Levin fears the former actress – if she releases a memoir – could complain about life while she was part of the British Royal Family.
She told Sky News Australia: “The interesting thing for me is she has been saying for months now that she is writing her own biography.
“We all believed it would be moans and groans about how badly she was treated as a royal. It would be another record like Prince Harry’s but only more powerful.
“She is apparently happy, and jolly, has made a change in her life, and is only looking forward.
“The most important thing for her – she will either say how wonderful life is, which I don’t think she will bother in her book, or she will go backward and say what a terrible time she had and how awful everyone was to her.
“It will be interesting to see if she is as happy and jolly as ever.”
Meghan’s memoir would be a certain “money spinner”, according to an expert, but he warned it also has the potential to inflict irreparable damage to her career and reputation.
Mark Boardman, an entertainment expert with more than 20 years of industry experience, told Daily Express US: “Meghan’s memoirs could stir controversy and reignite debates surrounding her relationship with the Royal Family, especially if she chooses to reveal previously undisclosed details.
“Any further revelations or ‘bombshells’ about her time as a royal could impact her career and reputation in various ways with an almost impossible task to make a further comeback.
“The impact largely depends on the nature of the disclosures. Positive revelations about her experiences and her charity work could enhance her reputation and strengthen her brand as a humanitarian.
“On the other hand, if her memoirs contain highly critical or contentious content, it could strain her relationship with the Royal Family further and polarize public opinion.
“It’s a fine line to walk, and Meghan would need to carefully consider the potential consequences.”
