The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will feature in the new film titled, Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace. It will portray a fictionalised account of Meghan and Harry’s departure from the Royal Family and promises to reveal “what really happened at the Palace to drive the couple away”.
Production on the movie is due to begin in Vancouver later this week, with the movie expected to be released this autumn.
The film, by TV network Lifetime, marks the third in a trilogy on the royal couple.
The first aired in 2018 and covered the early days of Meghan and Harry’s relationship, it was titled Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance.
This was followed by 2019’s Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal, which focused on the royal wedding.
When the film was first announced in March, Lifetime said the third in the series would reveal “what really happened inside the Palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie”, according to Deadline.
It will also detail several of the claims made in Meghan and Harry’s recent tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
This includes Meghan’s growing isolation, her disappointment that the Firm was not defending them against negative media portrayals and Harry’s fear that history would repeat itself if they did not leave soon.
Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace will also look at the private family feuds between Prince William and Harry, Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, and Meghan, and Harry with his brother and his father, Prince Charles.
JUST IN: Meghan mocked as photo of her with Kate resurfaces
Ms Morton, who is best known for her part in Netflix’s She’s Gott Have it, wears her dark hair in a bun – one of Meghan’s trademark looks.
She also wears a deep green caped dress that mirrors the Emilia Wickstead gown work by Meghan at last year’s Commonwealth Day Service in Westminster Abbey.
Mr Dean, who is famous for his ginger hair, has grown a beard for the filming of the show.
In the promo photo he wears a blue suit, white shirt and mint green tie – which again resembles the outfit Harry wore at the Commonwealth Day Service.
But despite the producers nailing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wardrobe, the actors of the show bare a questionable likeness to the true royal couple.
Mr Dean and Ms Morton are the third on-screen couple to portray Harry and Meghan in the trilogy.
Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser starred in the first biopic, while Tiffany Smith and Charlie Field took the leading roles in the second film.
