UK schools website crashes after Gavin Williamson makes major changes parents must follow

Parents were told the Government expects full attendance at schools from September, as a raft of rule changes were announced. However a webpage offering support for parents was unavailable, with a warning message explaining the outage. It said: “The website is currently unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. We expect this to last about an hour. Please try again later.”

The website is now back up and running with information available for parents.

Earlier today the Government confirmed new rules for schools from this September.

Parents were expected to ensure their children achieved full attendance – albeit with some caveats.

A ‘bubble’ now included a whole year group or class. Previously it was 15 pupils maximum.

If a ‘bubble’ records two positive coronavirus tests in two weeks, the entire group must self-isolate.

This is a breaking news story, more to follow…
