Universal Credit can be claimed online and there is a designated portal for applications.

Couples who live together will have to apply as a partnership, they also do not have to be married for this to be applicable.

Following an application, the Universal Credit team may phone applicants if they need more information or if the claimant’s identity cannot be verified online.

When claiming, people will need to have certain details ready such as banking details, contact information and details on income.
