Urgent food recall for popular chocolate product over fears of glass contamination

Hotel Chocolat is the latest retailer to issue an urgent food recall for one of its products due to an issue with the ingredients.

The item being pulled from shelves is known as the “Hotel Chocolat Choose Your Poison”, which is uniquely packaged in a glass flask with a cork stopper.

Each product contains 36 filled chocolates, all of which could be contaminated by pieces of glass in certain batches sold recently.

The possible presence of glass makes the product, which is sold at Hotel Chocolat boutiques, online, and at John Lewis, unsafe to eat.

In a recall notice posted on the Hotel Chocolat website, the retailer said: “We’re very sorry that it has been necessary to recall this product and for the inconvenience and concern caused. Please contact [email protected] for any additional support.”
